I bought this shoe at Urban Outfitters several months ago in an attempt to inexpensively update my shoe wardrobe. If you know me, you’ve probably seen me wear it a LOT.
It was $88 then, a bargain I thought. Now it’s $69.99. And in “real life” it looks super chic and expensive. Just buy it…here.

Arthur & Co. is a cute new shop from relatively unknown handbag designer Neal Decker. I, however, have known him forever. When I first met him, he was working for Jonathan Adler. That’s back before Jonathan had a store, back when he made alot of the stuff himself.
Anyway, Neal started making bags. One of them, a leather take on those white plastic deli bags, we ran in Best Bets in NY Mag. It was quickly knocked off by one HUGE name in fashion and countless no-names. But many other bags followed and now there’s a store full of them. Pictures below. Prices start at $108. Say hello to Neal when you visit — he’s the cute funny one running the place. 828 Lexington Ave, at 63rd Street.
Judging from the Good Karmal website, I clearly am the last person to know about these. And, to be honest, I’m more a salt girl than a sugar girl. But Good Karmal happens to make a sea salt caramel. Delicious, and not allowed in my home.
I will, however, partake of one in yours. I’ll try to keep it to one.

Comme des Garçons BLACK, a line consistenting of Bearbrick/Medicom collaboration pieces and Comme classics in what is essentially designer Rei Kawakubo’s response to the recession, is due on 10th Avenue and 17th Street by the end of this month. It should arrive around the same time as a special BLACK corner in Barneys, which has an even more limited time frame of 2 weeks from its June 22 opening.
In addition to the the West Chelsea pop-up and the corner at Barneys, more BLACK shops have already or will be finding their way to the following places:

While in Chicago I am conveniently staying right near a brand spanking new Target store. So of course I had to venture in, you know, out of journalistic curiosity. Let me tell ya, shocking discovery in the jewelry case. Not the Erickson Beamon stuff — it was super picked over and what was left was super gaudy in a bad way, bummer. But this no-name stuff that looks a lot like big-name stuff. It looks, dare I say it – EXPENSIVE. Chic. Almost bought some but on austerity plan.

Also, all the Loomstate stuff was on massive sale and there were racks and racks of it. One dress in particular is exactly like one I paid retail for last year at Barneys Co-op (I’m ok with that). And the Converse summer things – especially the summer weight cotton shorts – were pretty fab.
