Your new favorite waste of time

Deals, Design, Practical Home Things, Uncategorized No Comments »

Is actually not a waste of time at all — it’s site launched in the U.S. two days ago called My Deco and while the name isn’t great, what the site does is pretty fabulous. One editor at the preview said “oh, it’s like Polyvore, but for furnishings and interior design.” Yes, you can use the site to search for any category of home furnishing and further break it down by price, color, etc. BUT the feature I find the best is the ability to create not only mood boards, but to-scale layouts of any space. That’s a first, as far as I know, in an easy-to-use consumer site. You can drag real pictures of product into your space to see how it will look and position the “camera” so you can check it out from different angles. And you can send that layout to friends via email, facebook, etc. Kinda genius.

I could see this being very very addictive.
