Last Friday night I was in a rush trying to make it to my book party at Assouline. Hair – done! Outfit – chosen! Make up – not quite right. I knew I wanted a red lip, but I didn’t have the right red AND it was Fashion’s Night Out mayhem in midtown.

I ran into Saks thinking Nars would save me but the lady at the counter was incredibly unhelpful and handed me something orange. ORANGE? I said red, honey. So I went where I should have in the first place – Chanel.

Francisco Rosales, the counter manager, took one look at me, shoved me in the chair and applied Rougue Allure Laque #75 (Dragon). Thanks to him I actually showed up early to the event.
